ASAP Sessionistas: Great Segment For Me

I stay glued to ASAP '09 every Sunday noon it's because one of their segment really amazes me. The segment I'm talking about is the ASAP Sessionistas. This segment is consists of "The Acoustic Wonder" Aiza Seguerra", "The Soul Siren" Nina, "The Jazz Singer" Richard Poon, "Former South Border Vocalist" Duncan Ramos, "The Bossa Nova Queen" Sitti Navarro, and the "Acoustic Dynamic Duo" Juris and Chin of M.Y.M.P.

They render different genres of songs every week and create their own version.

Which Is Better? YRS or La Diva?

ASAP '09 and SOP Rules are two variety shows provide us with entertainment and these are two segments I'm looking forward to every6 Sunday would be YRS and La Diva.

YRS is a segment in ASAP '09 composed of "The Modern Princess Of Rock" Yeng Constantino, "The Sultry Singer" Rachelle Ann Go and "The Popstar Princess" Sarah Geronimo. YRS could mean the first letters of the singers or "Your Requested Song". The start singing together and they also have their individual performances.



On the other hand, SOP Rules also have La Diva composed of "Pinoy Pop Superstar Season 3 Champion" Maricris Garcia, "The Pinoy Pop Superstar Season 2 First Runner Up" Aicelle Santos and "The Pinoy Pop Superstar Season 1 Champion" Jonalyn Viray. They also sing as a group and individually.

Richard Poon: Michael Buble Of The Philippines

He is more known as "Michael Buble" of the Philippines. He can make girls easily fall in love because of his fantastic voice. A voice that so smooth and inviting. He is non other than Richard Poon.

Richard Poon was a former member of the band U-Turn before he became solo. He is specialized in jazz kind of music. Richard is a Business Management graduate. He didn't take any formal music lessons. His family owns a restaurant chain called Mr. Poon. Because of his amazing voice, he is now included in the roster of performers in ASAP 09 every Sunday noon. He performs together with Aiza Seguerra, Duncan Ramos, Nina, Sitti, and MYMP in the segment ASAP Sessionistas.

Miss Ganda Recieved Gold Award

This year, a lot of international songs were tagalized. Most of them are hit songs from Rihanna, Fergie, Leona Lewis and Beyonce Knowles. There is only one voice behind this and she is more known as Miss Ganda.

I first saw her when she was featured in the show "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" where she was interviewed about the songs that she revived in tagalized version. Some of her songs include Lampa "(Ika'y Mag-Ingat) (Clumsy)", "Sugat Sa Puso (Bleeding Love)", "Ms. Binibining Ganda (Beautiful Girls)" and "Wag Mong Pigilan (Awit Ng Tugtugan) (Don't Stop The Music)". Her videos are now being seen in Youtube. Now she launched another tagalized song from Beyonce which is "Single Ladies" which I haven't heard the tagalog title but I heard the song already.

Honestly, I'm really not in favor of what she is doing because the meaning of the song differs as she tagalized it (medyo nakakainis kaya!!!). Also, if she wants to stay longer in the industry, I believe that she should create her own name.

Surprisingly, last Sunday, after her performance in ASAP09 together with Sheryn Regis, she was given by a Gold Record Award for her album "Hip-Rap". I just laughed and and thought that she was able to get that award while other artists really need to stretch their vocal cords just for their album to reach a Gold status.



I'll just give her the benefit of the doubt that she can still sing. That's it!
